A new Animal Crossing New Horizons patch has fixed the infinite item duplication glitch

Animal Crossing: New Horizons has only been out for a matter of days, but Nintendo is already hard at work patching out certain exploits. One exploit that's just been taken out of the game entirely is the item duplication glitch.Patch 1.1.1 is now available to download for New Horizons. Over on the Japanese Nintendo website, the patch notes for the new update were published in full, where a "serious bug affecting game balance" has been entirely fixed.

According to the official patch notes released by Nintendo, the Version 1.1.1 update of Animal Crossing: New Horizons has “Fixed a serious bug affecting game balance”, which we have confirmed is a popular item duplication glitch.

After updating to Version 1.1.1, you will no longer be able to perform the item duplication glitch which required two players in the local co-op multiplayer mode of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. By placing a small item on a table and constantly rotating the item, another player could pick up duplicates repeatedly off the table. In addition, our site z2u.com has a large quantity of safe Animal Crossing NH Bells For Sale.

That serious bug was an infinite item duplication glitch that allowed players to keep copying items by rotating an item on a piece of furniture. When you went to grab said item on the rotating object, you would get an item in your pocket, as well as keeping the item that was spinning around. It was a handy trick if you wanted to quickly pay off Tom Nook and live your New Horizons life without that Tanuki's suffocating debt worrying you for too long.

Nintendo quickly caught on to the cheats though, and has got this fix for the game in less than a week. While the more immoral among us might sigh, it's good to see that Nintendo have been swift in addressing it. No one wins when you cheat, after all. If you still feel like you'd like to dabble with some crafty item duplication, just don't install the latest update. Isabelle may frown, and you won't be able to play online, but who cares about that when you Nook Miles account is overflowing?
